New Marine Business YESSSS Makes a Splash at Sanctuary Cove Boat Show
Chris Baird And Nona Pedersen Joint CEO’s Are On A Mission To Help Marine Businesses Grow Quicker And More Efficiently
Auckland, New Zealand – YESSSS, a business and marketing consultancy firm in the marine industry, announced today the company is expanding rapidly on the heels of a very successful Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and in preparation for future attendance at IBEX and METSTRADE. Following its recent launch the YESSSS team has expanded from joint CEOs Nona Pedersen and Chris Baird to include Kate Leon-Brown as Business Development Manager, Holly Mills as Digital Marketing Strategist and Jess Lane as Graphic Design Specialist.
“After some incredible meetings at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, we are positive the industry is definitely feeling YESSSS!,” said Pedersen. “In the coming months we will be announcing some big moves and in order to properly service our new clients we’ve already begun building out our team. We couldn’t be happier with the crew we’ve put together and we are perfectly poised to take our clients to the next level.”
After eight years of working and growing as general manager of Propspeed, Pedersen has developed hands-on experience and is dedicated to helping other businesses achieve their goals. Nona was initially brought on to work for Propspeed in 2014 as its fourth employee. In the ensuing years she was a driving part of a fast-growing team that, under her leadership, exceeded 20 people including staff in the USA and Europe. In that time, Propspeed tripled turnover, doubled export markets, and established the brand as the industry standard for foul release coatings. In March of 2019 at age 26, Nona was promoted to General Manager of Propspeed, making her the youngest female executive in the industry.
Baird brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the YESSSS team from his 30 years in the marine industry, which has included expanding marine businesses through four major recessions. He got his start in the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, Australia, as director of a sailing school and charter business. From there, he moved to Cairns, running a marine chandlery and then a specialist marine electronic retailer. He became CEO of NAVMAN Australia in 2000, playing a significant role in the company’s growth into a household name for GPS and marine electronics. He later founded FUSION Electronics Australia, later moving to New Zealand as CEO of FUSION International. Most recently, Baird has served as CEO and Managing Director of Propspeed International.
